The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is Local/ Commuting Area . (Commuting Area defined as 50 miles from Fort Rucker).. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)

These position is located at Mother Rucker's, Rucker Lanes, Divots Restaurant & Grille, The Landing Zone, and Five Star Catering.

Mother Rucker's, cooks work in a sports bar with a "roadhouse feel". The Landing Zone, cooks work in a restaurant offering a casual dining experience. Five Star Catering, cooks work during catered events at the Landing or at venues in the surrounding area. Rucker Lanes, cooks work at the bowling alley snack bar. Divots Restaurant & Grille, cooks work in a golf course restaurant that offers a full menu and catering options.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares and cooks a variety of foods and desserts according to menu requirements. Follows recipes to prepare items such as soups, stews, casseroles, gravies, sauces, hot cereals, syrups, meatloaf, meatballs, hamburgers.
  • Adjusts recipes for larger or smaller quantities. Roasts, grills and deep fries, broils and steams a variety of foods.
  • Apportions foods for family style servings as well as for plate service. Prepares vegetables and cold food platters.
  • Prepares eggs in a variety of ways, French toast, pancakes, and crepes. Monitors and maintains appropriate temperature of all food items throughout preparation and service.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check
  • Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
  • Completion of a Health Assessment.
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR215-3, 2-13i to include a National Agency Check (NACI).
  • This is a flexible position that there are no guaranteed hours. Must be willing to serve in a continuing position on a scheduled or as needed basis.
  • Attend Team Member Orientation within the first 30 days of employment.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 1. A minimum of 6 months of work experience directly related to the duties described above, that included skill in working with professional kitchen appliances and equipment. 2. Be able to communicate (verbal and written) in English.

Best Qualified: Work experience as a grill cook in causal dining restaurant such as Applebee's, Ruby Tuesday, or TGI Fridays.
