One (1) months to one (1) year of experience working in a medical, psychiatric, nursing or child care setting, or in working with developmentally disabled persons
High School Diploma or its equivalent
College or vocational/technical training from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester, 45 quarter or 720 classroom hours for the required experience.

Pathwaysis a 34-bed all male forensic facility working with individuals with disabilities in a secure setting. These individuals have been adjudicated by the courts as incompetent to proceed to trial and have significant behavioral and psychiatric issues. Pathways provides rehabilitative, vocational, and daily living skills training to the individuals served which allows for a smooth transition back into a non-secure residential or community setting.
Advanced Prevention and Safety Strategies (PASS) certification and CPR Certification required, with annual updates provided through Staff Development.
Shift hours: 1st shift - 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; 2nd shift – 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.; 3rd shift – 10:15 p.m. to 6:15 a.m.
EXAMPLES OF WORK
Assigned as lead worker or charge person with responsibility with directing employees with workflow.
Monitors individuals to ensure safety and protection.
Assists individuals with daily living skills and activities, i.e., bathing, dressing, grooming, eating and etc.
Demonstrates and assists patients in bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Accompanies individuals to and from medical trips.
Encourages individuals to participate in social, educational, and recreational activities.
Documents and maintains records of daily activities.
Assists and supports individuals during meal time.
Perform nursing aide functions, such as collecting specimens.
